Jim Nicolow
Age 62. Retired small business owner. B.B.A., Wayne State U; M.B.A., WMU. Resident of Galesburg over 34 yrs. Have served on Galesburg City Council since January 1998.

1. I believe a major challenge for our municipality is attracting new business development to the downtown area. The second challenge is to strive for consistent enforcement of our city ordinances with all residents. Third, the council needs to improve our relationship with our residents; there continues to be a lot of tension for our residents in dealing with our municipality.
2. The most effective method for our citizens to express their opinions and be a part of the solution is to play an active role. I’m sad to see the lack of attendance by our citizens at our council sessions.
3. I have been a resident and business owner in this community for many years. My kids grew up here and my wife teaches here. I am running for a third term because I strongly believe I can help Galesburg prosper. My only “agenda” is what’s best for our community.
